You Are More

Tonight, I could feel the shame of the past couple of days start to gain control of some of my thoughts.  I would catch it, pray that God would strengthen me, and ground me in his love.  They would dissipate but slowly creep back in time.  I started thinking about a song by Tenth Avenue North, which speaks about the shame we all feel and how Jesus see us.

I really like the message in there song “You are More” (click on the link to see the video).  Listening to the song and then reading the lyrics makes me realize how true the words are, that God’s love is unconditional and everlasting.  So we may feel we have fallen too far to be loved from the shame of are faults and imperfections.  In the final verse though we see the true message that God delivered to us, that we have been remade by the forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ.

‘Cause this is not about what you’ve done,
But what’s been done for you.
This is not about where you’ve been,
But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.

Again, the comfort is found in those final two lines, “But what he felt to forgive you, and what He felt to make you loved.”  A powerful message, that we are loved unconditionally and a powerful motivator.
